According to the Private Residential Tenancies Board Report March 2015, the average monthly rent for an apartment in Dublin was €1,166 and a house €1,301, however based on our 2015 lettings and other properties listed for rent on daft.ie, there are numerous properties commanding far in excess of €2,250 per month.

These figures got the team in Tenant Ready thinking and out of curiosity we searched the market to identify what properties could be purchased for one years typical rent in Dublin.

If you are lucky at the Allsop Auction on 21st April you could pick up a one bed apartment in Cobh (Lot 194) with sea views for a mere €20k or a three bedroom terraced house in Carrick On Shannon (Lot 218) for €25k.

For those with an appetite for property investment there is a one bed tenanted apartment in Tullow (Lot 161) generating a rental income of €4,800.00 per annum with a minimum reserve of €25k

In total, at the time of writing this article there were in excess of 750 houses, apartments and pieces of land listed for sale on daft.ie and my home.ie for the equivalent cost of one years rent of a typical Dublin house.
